“Breach!” they heard from outside. Before they can react a bit more, the door blasts open. Samantha turns her head down and closes her eyes as the smoke from the small blast went above her head. Not a second later, loud clapping sounds echoes the room. Samantha hears thuds in front of her. As she opens her eyes she sees Jeff, Pedro, and the guy lying on the floor with bullet wounds.
“Clear,” she heard someone said behind her.
One of them comes in front of her and kneels to free her feet. She felt someone also unties her hands. The guy in front of her looks at her, “It’s okay,” he said. Samantha immediately recognize his voice as he tries to take off his mask.
“Alex?” Samantha said with tears. She immediately gave him a hug, “Thank you.”
“I guess I’ll walk you home, then,” said Alex. Happy and Rojas smirked.
“These kids just gave us all these trouble to make their love story a little more interesting,” said Happy.
“Athena is secured,” said Lead, “I repeat, Athena is secured. We’re now going for exfil.”
“Let’s go,” said Alex as he gets up. Samantha looks at the lifeless Jeff with pity.
“Alright, Hunters,” said Lead, “Diamond formation.”
Alex clenches on Samantha’s arms and picks up his pistol using the other. Happy leads the way out. Lead protects the other side of Samantha while Rojas is guarding their back.
Samantha suddenly remembered something and pulled Alex back. They all stopped, “Nathan,” she said, “Where’s Nathan?” she worriedly say, “You see any boy out there? We can’t leave without him.”
“I’m sorry ma’am but we have our orders,” said Lead, “We're gon’ get you outta here safe but we can’t do it effectively if we have another civilian with us.”
“He’s just five,” she said begging, “Alex, please.” She looks at Alex.
Alex looks at Lead then looks at her, “Sammy, I’m sorry I don’t have the call.”
“I will,” said Rojas. All of them looked at him, “I think I saw a kid they brought out of here just before we came in. I’ll catch you up at the exfil point.”
“No it’s-” said Lead but Rojas turns around and starts going on the other way.
“I’ll go with you!” yelled Alex.
“No!” yelled Rojas back, “Secure Athena. I got this.”
As soon as they went out of the small building they went under fire.
“Contact!” Said Happy as he fires back.
“It’s only half a klick!” said Lead as they ran from cover to cover while shooting back and dropping enemies as much as they can.
Happy suddenly drops, “I’m hit!” he yells as he holds his right leg and Lead drags him to cover. Alex gets Samantha to cover as he tries to fire back. Not a moment later they found themselves pinned down.
“River One, this is Hunter one. Over,” said Lead on the radio.
“Hunter One, this is River One,” the Seal’s team leader responded, “What’s the sitrep there? We’re hearing a lot of gunshots from over here.”
“We’re pinned down,” said Lead, “We just got out of the target building and walks a few blocks. We’re half a mike from extraction. Hunter Four is down. We need backup. Over.”
“Copy that, Hunter One,” said River One, “We’re coming from the southeast in one mike. Over and out.”
“I need a little help!” said Happy while he’s patching up his gunshot wound himself. Bullets are buzzing above their cover as Lead tries to fire back.
“We’re repositioning!” said Alex as he prepare to move Samantha.
Happy picks up his gun and shoots in full auto. Lead did the same to cover Alex and Samantha. Alex clenches at Samantha while running towards Happy and Lead. They immediately took cover.
“Use this,” said Happy as he gave his gun to Alex, “I need a little help with this one, young lady,” he told Samantha as he holds his wound.
“Okay,” said Samantha.
“Put a pressure on my wound like this,” said Happy as he is demonstrating how, “While I tie the bondage tight enough, alright?”
“Okay,” said Samantha as she starts to press on Happy’s wound, “Oh, God,” she said as blood flows out, “Tell me that doesn’t hurt.” She said as she tries not to vomit.
“Don’t throw up,” said Happy trying to laugh as he endures the pain, “Just put on the pressure,” Happy finished tying, “There we go. You did great Sam.”
“Where’s Rojas,” said Alex worriedly.
“Check your fire at the back,” said River One in the radio as they approach the position of the four.
“Thank God, they’re here,” Happy sighed.
“Rojas come in,” said Lead on the radio, “Rojas come in. What’s your status?”
One Seal checks on Happy’s injury. Two of them takes cover and shoots back. One approaches Lead.
“Where’s your other guy?” River One asked Lead.
“He went back for a child,” said Lead.
“I hear you’re looking for me,” said Rojas over the radio, “Check your fire at the west I’m coming in hot.”
Samantha looks at the road on their side. She saw Rojas running carrying Nathan on his right side, “There!” she exclaimed.
“You gotta be shitting me,” Happy said smiling.
One Seal approach Rojas to secure Nathan as they shoot back. One picks up Happy, they start moving towards extraction point. Alex clenches Samantha’s arm as Rojas positions at their back. Lead also went for Samantha. River One and another seal follows them as they secure their backs.
“It’s wide open!” yelled Lead, “Pop smoke! Pop smoke!”
Alex and the others throw smoke grenades to cover their escape. The cartels stop firing at them as they fade through the smoke.
Not long after, they’ve reached the extraction point. It’s beside a creek that flows out to the west coast. With several houses before the creek, there positioned the other four Seals. Two of them guarding several people by the side of the road on the ground with their hands behind their back. The other two guards the rubber boats.
With the cartels still on their tail everyone hops in the rubber boats. The Hunters with Samantha and Nathan occupied one and the Seals occupied two rubber boats. Vehicles approach the creek but the team is now in a safe distance going out to the coast.
Samantha hugs Nathan, “Where’s my brother?” Nathan asked.
Samantha hugs him tightly and starts to cry, “I’m sorry.”
“We should go back and help him,” said Nathan as he starts to cry too, “I know he’s bad but he’s my brother.”
The four Hunters watch the two, “Hey,” Rojas said to Nathan, “He’s in a good place now, don’t worry,” he said as he taps Nathan’s back comforting him.
After reaching the coast they again came under fire. Several cartels on boats that came from the small port of Las Puentes tail them.
After a little firefight, the two Chinooks came and immediately gun down the boats following them. The two Chinooks maneuver to land on the water as their rubber boats slides up the ramps.
